Yoruba community lauds Tinubu for appointing Nnaji as minister

Members of the Yoruba United Community, Enugu State chapter, have commended President Bola Tinubu for nominating the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election in Enugu State, Chief Uche Nnaji for a ministerial appointment.

Recall that Nnaji was among the first 19 ministerial nominees whose names were sent to the Senate penultimate Wednesday for screening and possible confirmation by President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to the development, the Yoruba group, under the leadership of Engr. Isiaka Salmon, applauded president Tinubu for finding Chief Nnaji worthy of being appointed as minister.

The community observed with confidence the capacity of Nnaji in representing Enugu State well in Mr. President’ cabinet that would soon be put in place.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the Enugu State Yoruba United Community, Mr. Omijori Muideen, the group hailed President Tinubu’s action, saying he nominated “an undisputable industrialist, philanthropist, and above all a pan- Nigerian as reechoed by the Nigerian Senate President during the screening of the nominee on the floor of the senate.

“We sincerely hope that the nomination of Chief Uche Nnaji would further cement the relationship among all the critical stakeholders in Enugu State for rapid socioeconomic and political developments of the state for the better of the Enugu State citizens and the residents alike.

“On our part, we pledge our continuous support and loyalty to H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his team which Chief Uche Nnaji is an integral part and all the constituted authorities across all tiers of government”.
