Imo Dev. Centres mobilize 5000 persons for Uzodimma endorsement rally

The Development Center Coordinators and their members in Imo State have expressed their determination to deliver the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for the second term with a wider margin as the frontiers of Imo State grassroots politics and election strategy.

It was a political earthquake at the Freedom Square located at the popular Warehouse Junction, Owerri , Imo State  on Thursday 21st September, 2023 when all the Coordinators of the Development Centres and members in the State mobilized over 5000 supporters and held solidarity rally for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s re-election testament.

Our correspondent reports that the coordinators did not leave any stone unturned by mobilizing both their rural women and youths who made the event very unique and colourful.

The event witnessed the presence of top government functionaries as the State Chairman of the Development Centres Coordinators, Chief Matthew Emeka Nwoga, Okigwe Zonal Coordinator of the forum,Dr. Eli Dibia among others were also in attendance.

Speaking to newsmen, the state chairman of the coordinators, Chief Matthew Emeka Nwogu described the solidarity rally as the “pay back” time to Governor Hope Uzodimma whom he thanked for finding them worthy to serve in his government as well as giving them opportunities to contribute their quotas in building and repositioning the state.

Chief Nwogu revealed that his people have adopted a “zero” opposition campaign formula noting that Governor Uzodimma had made so many achievements which included: rehabilitation of rural roads,Owerri-Orlu, Owerri-Okigwe, Owerri-Umuahia Roads, primary health Centres as well as improving workers welfare.

“Our Governor has approved #40,000.00 new minimum wage, payment of workers salaries as at when due, pensioners are now enjoying their pensions. We are here today to tell the whole world that Governor Hope Uzodimma deserves second term in office. And we are urging every Imolite to vote for him come 11th November,2023 off-cycle Imo gubernatorial election. Vote for continuity is the only way to move Imo State forward”,he stated.

The Okigwe Zonal Coordinator of the Forum, Dr. Eli Dibia stated that Imo Charter of Equity favours Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Dr. Dibia maintained that Imo Charter of Equity can only work if Governor Hope Uzodimma is re-elected recalling that the Equity was truncated by the emergence of former governor Rochas Okorocha in 2011.

He therefore described Uzodimma as the best among all the candidates jostling rule Imo State.
