Muslim community in South-East hails Supreme Court verdict, congratulates President Tinubu

The South-East Muslim Community Forum(SEMCOF), the umbrella body of all the South East Muslims under the leadership of Dr. Sheikh Haroun Ogbonnia Ajah has hailed the verdict of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, affirming Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the duly elected president of the country in the February 25, 2023 presidential elections.

SEMCOF noted that the judgement which affirmed President Tinubu as the rightful winner of the election has successfully laid to rest, all the issues surrounding the presidential elections and placed the president on a strong footing for the purpose of confronting the challenges facing the country.

In a press statement released in Uturu, Abia State by the Secretary – General of the forum, Engr. Isiaka A. Salmon shortly after the judgement, the group admonished Mr. President to continue to see Nigeria as his constituency and run an all inclusive government devoid of tribalism, ethnicity, religion, faith, and other divisive tendencies. 

The South East Muslim Community Forum (SEMCOF) call on the presidential candidates of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the LP, Mr. Peter Obi to openly congratulate Mr. President in the spirit of statesmanship and subsequently join him in moving the nation forward.

SEMCOF subsequently pledge her continued loyalty to Mr. President, and all the constituted authorities in their efforts to build an egalitarian society which all Nigerians can be proud of.
