Anglican primate appoints Ven. Nwanekpe CONNAM chaplain

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba has appointed Venerable David Nwanekpe as the Chaplain to 

Church of Nigeria North America Mission (CONNAM).

Mr Korede Akintunde, Communication Officer of Church of Nigeria disclosed this in a statement made available to Nwanekpe and a copy sent to the newsmen on Saturday in Owerri.

Akintude quoted the primate as saying that the appointment is with immediate effect.

The Primate noted Nwanekpe’s extensive experience in pastoral ministry, commitment to the teachings of faith, and exemplary leadership qualities as attributes that earned him the appointment.

Ndukauba however, believes that his spiritual guidance and pastoral care will greatly contribute to the spiritual growth and well-being of the CONNAM Council of Knights and Ladies.

Venerable David Nwanekpe is the current Rector, Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, Bronx, New York, USA under the Church of Nigeria North America Mission (CONNAM).

The Primate expressed his confidence that his dedication and passion that he has exhibited throughout his ministry would be of great impact in his new role in the Church of God.

Reacting to the appointment, Mr Lucky Dibiagwu, Coordinator of Umuokwu Izombe Diaspora Assembly (UDA), an umbrella organisation bidding Umuokwu people of Oguta, Imo State abroad, thanked God for the new position given to Nwanekpe.

“As a body, we are not surprised about this new feather added to the cap of our brother because of his high interest to things of God.

“Nwanekpe is one in a million clergy that you can reokon with and get raw feeling of a devout minister of God, and we are happy that the church leadership had spotted him for a higher pastorial duties”, Dibiagwu said.
