The recovered vehicles from the hoodlums in Anambra
Anambra State Joint Security Force, has bursted the Camp of proponents of sit-at-home in Achalla, Awka North local government area, injuring many.
The team also, recovered some exotic cars from the Biafra agitators and ammunition in the process.
The operation, it was gathered was ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye.
In a statement Tuesday in Awka, signed by the police public relations officer PPRO, Ikenga Tochukwu and made avalaible to reporters, said the operation took the sit-at-home exponents by surprise.
He said many of them fled with gunshot wounds leaving trails of blood.
According to the statement, “The hoodlums had disrupted trading at Achalla Market the previous Monday ordering traders to sit at home.
“This drew attention of the Security Apparatus in the State which made the State Police Command to decide on giving them a taste of their own medicine in the early hours of Monday 19th February, 2024”
The recovered items, according to the command, included, five exotic vehicles previously snatched at gun point, over 300 rounds of Machine Gun Ammunition and 34 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition for Ak-47 Rifle.
Ikenga, further said that manhunt for the fleeing members of the group would be extended to hospitals and clinics.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police had directed that owners of the recovered vehicles be contacted to come forward with proof of ownership to collect their vehicles.
