Anambra state judiciary has begun investigations over fraud allegations involving Magistrates
There are allegations in the judiciary sector in the state that some magistrates are extorting money from clients after granting them bails.
One of the lawyers whose client was allegedly involved, made the disclosure at the weekend in Awka, through a video.
The State Judiciary Sunday, confirmed that it was aware of what it described as the recent unofficial reports circulating and trending on social media regarding bribery allegations at one of the Magistrate courts sitting at Awka.
In a statement, made available to The Nation Sunday, said that the state Judiciary takes such claims seriously, while, assuring the general public that any unethical behavior will be fully investigated and any Judicial officer at whatever level found wanting will be dealt with accordingly.

The statement read,”To this end, we have already initiated communications with the Learned Chief Magistrate and court staff mentioned.
” Efforts are being made to reach the lawyer that raised the allegation.
“We ask the public to allow investigations proceed without prejudice and we remain committed to upholding justice and maintaining public trust” Judiciary wrote
